What if I HAVE to keep my dog on a leash?
I can edit out those leashes in a jiffy! But if you are like me, the leash and collar is a thoughtful purchase based on personality, looks, etc. If you love it, why not include it in some of your photos?
What if I have 3 dogs, 1 cat, and a horse?
My session fee of $195 includes 2 pets. Each additional animal is an extra $25.
What should I do to prepare my pet for the big day?
While my goal is to capture your pet just being itself, it is a good idea to take the more enthusiastic pets for a walk around the block or a chase around the house.
What if it is raining/snowing/freezing cold?
It really is up to you as the owner, to decide what is best for your pet. If you have a big fuzzy dog, then a little snow shouldn't be a problem. If you have a Hairless Terrier and it is 20 degrees outside, then I would recommend either shooting indoors, or rescheduling for a later date. The only time I insist on rescheduling is if I feel the weather could truly put my gear in jeopardy.
Do you travel outside of the Kansas City metro area for sessions?
I am a Colorado native and I do travel west a few times per year to visit my friends and family. My travel fees depend on the number of sessions booked - gather your friends and family! I ask that at least 3 sessions are booked and paid in full prior to me making the journey.
Do you shoot babies, engagements, families, etc.?
.In order to continually provide the best quality work for my clients, I only photograph pets.
The FAQ's
How would you describe your style of pet photography?
Candid & detailed. I love a salt & pepper muzzle, dirt-covered tongue, googly eyes, cookie crumbs stuck to the chin, or a string of drool hanging from a big fleshy lip. I document the details that give each animal the distinction that they deserve. I capture them as they roll in the grass, paw at a bug, fall asleep sitting up, or lovingly chew on their housemate.
How do I schedule a session?
Just contact me via email. All sessions require a 50% deposit at time of booking with the remaining balance due the day of your session.
Where will our session take place?
All shoots are at the location(s) of your choice - your home, the park, the local coffeehouse, etc. Please note that the basic session fee includes 1 location within a 30-mile radius (one-way) of the Kansas City metro area.
How long will our session last?
While I do not set a time limit, my sessions typically last between 1 and 2 hours.
What if my dog/cat/guinea pig is acting naughty the day of our session?
No worries! I have worked in the veterinary field for 20 years and have been bitten, scratched, pooped on, and knocked over. My goal is to capture your pet having fun and being as silly (or as sleepy) as they want to be. If your pet responds to your voice, we will do just fine. In all seriousness, if your pet is truly aggressive towards strangers, I would not recommend professional pet photography.
